Although RTEMS is a mature and full-featured product, there are always things on the wish list. This list is in no particular order of importance or difficulty.

  • Doxygen for SuperCore and API directories (underway by Joel)
  • TFS adapter for MicroMonitor (underway by Ed Sutter)
  • Eclipse support
  • TinyRTEMS
  • Unified Interrupt and PCI APIs -- UnifiedAPIs
  • Hypervisor providing ARINC-653 capabilities.
  • prepackaged MacOS X development tools
  • prepackaged Debian/Ubuntu development tools
  • Port of LWIP and/or UIP to RTEMS
  • Port Transparent IPC (http://tipc.sourceforge.net/index.html) to RTEMS
  • Merge BSP for Simplescalar simulator -- http://www.jwhitham.org.uk/simplescalar/
  • Support for new Processor Families
  • ISO9660 filesystem
  • Implement POSIX (named) FIFOs and (unnamed) Pipes -- POSIXFIFOs
  • OSEK Support [1]
  • Complete µITRON Interface [2]
  • Add cache manager support for architectures not having it.
  • Add Board Support Packages for free simulators. The goal is to be able to automate testing of RTEMS on every architecture possible using simulators.
