What is wrong with my debug version?

Hello all,
         I built the ss-20001201 version for the MBX860 bsp, both with and 
without debug.
         Now, I have in corresponding directory lib***.a and lib***_g.a; 
and also in examples: hello.exe and hello_g.exe, etc.
         But when I load the hello_g.exe rpogram into gdb, it says me that 
the program has no debug information.
