system halted after loading 'hello.exe'

Then this is the 4.0 hello and 4.5 microwindows.  If so, then
that explains it all.  Some initialization problems were fixed
between those two points.

4.5.0-beta SHOULD no be longer there but is.  Try 4.5.0 instead.
